Scout Group

Scouting

Scouting gives young people the skills to succeed in life.

Thousands of young people across South London benefit every single week from our exciting programme. It’s not always the big things like trips, camps or adventurous activities; sometimes it’s the little things like giving them some independence, teaching them social skills or getting them to work in a team.

We know that 73% of parents know that Scouting gives young people the skills to succeed in life but what are they?

Week by week, our volunteers empower thousands of young people to learn new skills, make new friends and stand on their own two feet. They’re our everyday heroes. They shape young people’s lives for the better, and find out a whole lot about themselves in the process, too.

Today, there are nearly 60,000 young people on the waiting list to join us in the UK. We’re more relevant and more needed than ever, but it’s not always easy to keep up with the demand.

To join the scouts please contact us on info@emca.org.uk or call us on 02077202508.

Feeding the homeless

Feeding the homeless

EMCA feeds the homeless people in Wandsworth/Lambeth boroughs, London.

Most are homeless or have fallen through various social safety nets. The harsh reality of life on the streets or being jobless in one of the most expensive cities in the world means a warm, nutritious meal can make a world of difference.

Dedicated EMCA volunteers buy the ingredients early in the morning then spend the day chopping, stirring and seasoning. Come rain or shine the food is then taken to the site and is served by our smiling volunteers.

Volunteering and donations

The success of our feeding programme relies on dedicated volunteers and individual donors.
If you would like to find out more about volunteering for this project then please contact us by sending a email to info@emca.org.uk.

Youth Clubs

A weekly get together to relax, have some fun, and aspire to do more and aim higher. We have dedicated two permanent rooms for youth activities with a wide range of facilities such as pool tables, table tennis, games, sport and more.

  • Girls 11+ years old Every Friday, 5:30pm – 8:00pm
  • Boys 11+ years old Every Friday, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

There are dedicated supervised sessions for our young brothers and sisters with planned activities for anyone who wants to join in just drop by and play games, make new friends and catch up with old ones.

For all those of you who would like to become more involved with the youth club we are currently recruiting volunteer youth leaders of both genders to plan, organise and supervise activities in the youth club.

All young people who would like to attend the youth club require the express consent of their parents or legal guardians so please fill out the youth club registration form and the Emergency contact form. Collect the forms from the EMCA office or we can email it to you. You can then send the form to info@emca.org.uk or hand it in to one of our current youth club supervisors.

We need your help to continue developing the youth club and expanding the services and activities it can offer to our young people so next time you are thinking about making a charitable donation think about our youth.

For more information about the youth clubs please email us on info@emca.org.uk or call us on 02077202508.
